Comments from Doug:

We made no changes to the Cabinet to keep the stock look.

The most difficult part of the swap over was getting the Grid meter to read the correct Grid Current. I had to finally bypass the old Grid circuit and run a Wire direct to the Multimeter switch to make the grid meter read correctly.

This amp started life with a pair of 3-400s then someone changed over to 3-500s. I am not convinced that the amp ever worked with the 3-500s in place because of all the work I had to do to get the power supply working again. Then I find that one of the 3-500s was bad. That is why I decided to put the GS35B in the amp (the specs and the price of the Russian Tubes sold me).

Typical Operation 80 mtrs SSB: 150 mA Grid current, 600/700 mA plate current, plate Voltage under load is 3300/3400 and 4000 Volts at no load. 50 Watts drive gives 800/900 Watts out with very clean crisp signal. Every one that I have talked to with this amp has commented on how clean and loud the signal is.
